Sad Youth Club is a zine/craft project by Sydney artist, Troijarra Ebio.

Sydney based visual artist and tattoo artist, Troijarra Ebio has been developing bodies of work through different mediums and platforms since 2015, primarily under the pseudonym Sad Youth Club. Initially created as a solo side project during the completion of her BFA (drawing and painting) at UNSW A&D (2016), Sad Youth Club quickly became a main focus and self publishing platform. As of October 2017, SYC has published 15 visual zines available online and in selected zine distributors on the Australian eastern coast. As well as participating in numerous group and solo exhibitions.

Past and current bodies of work explores recurrent themes of sexuality, existentialism, melancholia and self growth/preservation. Surrealist, magic realism influences and bold linework are major style components across her works. Setting a core aesthetic and vision for the art platform.

By the start of 2019, Troijarra shifted into the tattooing industry and is now practising under @SYCtattoo (Instagram). Troijarra’s creative evolution into tattooing allowed her to explore and learn a new craft, further extending the range in which SYC continues to visually tell personal stories and open discussions on melancholia.
